Gaelic Festival in Cary
Scott and I want to send a super sized THANK YOU to all the students and parents who came out for the festival on Saturday! It was a lovely surprise for us, not knowing what to expect, to find Regency Park to be such a beautiful location. I loved being on the deck! The festival was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it was so safe and comfortable for the kids to wander about. The Walker Street Fiddlers sounded great! We're going for the big stage next year! I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. The whole day was just perfect for us...THANK YOU for making it such a fun and successful day!
Fundraising went really well too! Despite the warmer weather, we sold several scarves and shawls and a lot of hot apple cider! Our totals are below:
Vending.....................$216.50
Raffle..........................$ 90.00
Busking......................$ 80.00
Grand Total.......$386.50
Not bad for a fun day in the sun spent with good friends and good music.
BIG REMINDER! The citrus fruit sale is probably our best opportunity to really make some significant money towards our trip. WE CANNOT SETTLE FOR ONE OR TWO SALES PER FAMILY!!! We won't have many chances to make very large profits on any other fundraiser, so please try to make calls to individuals and especially try to get businesses to purchase employee gifts for the holidays! We can't depend on sales to family and friends alone. We might want to think about asking local businesses ... please suggest ... to allow us to sell fruit orders and play music outside their stores the next two Saturdays. We have very little time left! The sale ends in only 18 days!
Once again, thanks to everybody who came out this weekend to Regency Park. I'll let you know as soon as we get confirmation of the Camelot Christmas Festival December 2nd and 3rd. That will be a HUGE weekend for us! We will play at the Candle Tea for our First Moravian Church hosts on Friday, December 1st...TBA...and then be at the festival in Raleigh on Saturday and Sunday for performance and vending! As we get confirmations and details, we will begin to formulate a strategy to divide and conquer!
Have a great week, everybody! Rest up, do your homework, and play those fiddle tunes!
Fond regards,
Teresja
