Sunday Performances

On Sunday...Those coming for the Moses Cone performance should meet at 2:40 in the atrium...right inside the main entrance of the hospital where you find the information desk. We will find a place to put our cases, tune ant then play very short sessions at the rehab center and at the nurses station on the pediatric floor before returning to the atrium. If time permits, we will play a few tunes there as well, but we must leave by 4:00 to make our 5:00 performance time at the nursing Center.

Once again, please confirm that you will or will not be playing this event. Thanks!!

Booking Boo Boo

Hey Guys,

We need to make a change on the date of our last group session/Christmas party!!!!!

Scott's Lower School has a GDS concert on that Monday night at 7:00. He was thinking that it was on Tuesday...Oops!

What do you think about moving the party to Tuesday...same times???

I asked the folks at the church. They have that Tuesday available...We would have to be completely out of the New Fellowship Hall before 8:00 PM, but I think even if we eat dinner in there we could move back to the Old Fellowship Hall to do a gift exchange and visit for a while after dinner. They also have that Wednesday available with no conflicts if that is better for most.

These are the two best options since I know Grimsley's orchestra concert is Thursday and Scott has a gig Friday night...and on and on...

I really need feedback on this since I need to let the people at the church know and then they have to get board approval after that. It's not a problem, just want to give them as much time as possible. We want all of you to attend if you want to, so please let me know what date your schedules would accommodate. I apologize for the mix up. I hope it works out for everybody!

Warm regards,
Teresja

Fruitless!!

We have not been able to get in touch with the truck. We have been here at the delivery spot since 9am, and the fruit truck has not shown up. We have even gotten in touch with the company, but even they have not been able to reach their truck driver. So, we are going to delay our pick up day until Monday, Dec. 11th, between 4pm-7pm.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.

Thank You.

Final Camelot Notes

Hi Everyone,

I went to Raleigh today to check out our location. This is going to be way easier than the downtown festival with that Christmas parade traffic!!!!

Just follow the exit signs to the State Fairgrounds...take Wade Avenue and then Blue Ridge Road. Go in the main gate off Blue Ridge Road after you pass the horse stables. Our location...the Kerr-Scott building is the first building on the right as you turn in. There is a banner for Camelot Christmas on the building.

There is parking around that building and beyond. The flea market is directly across the street, so maybe many of those shoppers will come into the festival. This is the first year, so they don't really know what to expect.

When you come to the front entrance of the building, you go to the right and our booth will be set up a short distance down the right side wall right next to a loading entrance. The building is small...we will be easy to find! It doesn't look like there are more than a dozen vendors, so I hope we will do very well this weekend.

It is best if you call as you arrive to have someone meet you at the entrance as no one will be permitted to enter without paying admission without the passes. (email has phone numbers)One of us can come with a pass for your student.

One of our performance times has been rescheduled. We will now play at 10:30 AM, 12:45 PM as before, but our last performance has been moved to 5:15 PM. Basically, we are opening and closing the event at our stage. (There are 2 stages.) We can also busk as often as we want in the front foyer of the building or outside in front of our building, but nowhere else within the fairgrounds. Outside would be great because we can draw attention to our festival as well as be in a position to accept the generosity of folks who are not planning to pay admission into the festival itself! Everybody should give your fingers an extra special good night kiss tonight!

I have plenty of apple cider, hot chocolate and Irish tea. I plan to arrive early...the doors will open to vendors at 7:00 AM (I don't plan to arrive THAT early)...maybe by 9:00 or so because I will need to set up our booth. I was not sure about leaving our merchandise overnight, but I think it will be okay over Saturday night until we arrive back on Sunday morning. The building will be locked and it is a small group of "regulars" that seem very nice. Everyone who was there when I arrived was putting their wares out tonight.

That's about it. If anyone has questions, just email or call. I'll check email early before I leave and after that, we'll have cell phones. I'm looking forward to a really fun event. Our hostesses love us...we got great complements on the kids playing!...and they are looking forward to the spring festival already and they invited us back to Regency Park next fall. (I think we're becoming "the regulars!")

Rest up and we'll you Saturday or Sunday!

Teresja

Times and Places

Here's a little info for the Students who are playing the Candle Tea on Friday.

Please meet Scott in the New Fellowship Hall...the brick building at the end of the sidewalk to the left of the OFH where we have practice...at about 5:40 to tune. You will be playing from 6:00 till 7:00 and Scott can show you where to set up. I may not be easy to maneuver yourself into the group if you come late. Space will be a little tight, so please try to arrive no later than 5:45.

Our performance time is a popular time for people to drop in at the Candle Tea, so the parking lot is likely to be full. You can park along the street, but anticipate having to walk a block or two.

If you are playing the candle tea, please wear something besides jeans and T-shirts. You do not have to dress up, but nicer pants or khakis and a blouse or polo shirt would be better for this event. If girls choose to wear skirts, please choose one that is not extremely short. You will find that many of our hosts at the church will be wearing traditional Moravian attire for this event.

Those of you who are playing the Camelot Christmas Festival should begin to look for accessories and attire that suggests Renaissance period clothing. We are still looking for some things to bring that we might share with you, but it is looking less and less likely that we will find much in children's sizes that is not cost prohibitive. THEREFORE...thou must do thy best with thine own wardrobe!

If you have still not signed up for an event this weekend, we encourage you that is is not too late! Transportation can be arranged with others who are going to Raleigh if this is a problem. We need as many of you as we can get to participate either Saturday or Sunday!

We will be set up in the Kerr-Scott building at the State Fairgrounds. There are some places we can busk between gigs if we want to. After I return from setting up tomorrow, I should have a better idea of how and where we will be able to meet on Saturday and Sunday. It may not be as "user friendly" as the festival at Regency Park in that I doubt anyone will just let you in to pick up your passes, but I'll send more information after I have a chance to check everything out tomorrow.

Once again, as far as we know now, our gigs are at 10:30 AM, 12:45 PM and 3:45 PM both days. The gates open at 10:00 AM so we will need to be there with bells on ready to tune and welcome the guests into the festival. There are other festivals and events happening at the fairgrounds that week also, so traffic will be busy.

Reminder for GDS Small Groups!!!
Monday...yes the day after this busy weekend... is small groups at the Day School.

Okay, That's all I have until I check out our digs at the Fairgrounds. THANKS for the great show at McPherson's last night. I think it was our best performance this year! We made about $50 in tips, thanks to our dedicated and lovely collection team. Nice job, everybody!

See you all this weekend!
